ORIGINS
Out & About Support Services has grown from a concept originally trialed in Milton Keynes about 10 years ago. As a then, Day Care Manager, I was tasked with setting up a service to provide much needed support in the community as well as in a building based Centre.
I was able to see first hand how much of a difference this service made to a lot of people, it empowered them to have the confidence to live their lives according to their wishes, be able to get out of the house and participate in everyday tasks and activities that we all take for granted irrespective of their abilities/disabilities.
It was always my dream to be able to offer this service again and at last I have been given this opportunity to make a difference, hence the launch of ‘Out&About’ in May 2019.
WHO ARE WE?
Eileen Conlon
My name is Eileen Conlon and I am the Founder and Owner of ‘Out&About Support Services I trained and qualified as a nurse in 1981 and since then spent 17 years as a school nurse in boarding schools and latterly 20 years as a Day Care Manager for a Charity and then local authority. I have a vast experience of all types of pastoral, medical and social care needs, as well as management, Health & Safety, budgets and recruitment.
Jenny Hall
My name is Jenny Hall and I am a volunteer with Out and About’ I have been a Carer for the past 35 years, involved with supporting people of all ages with physically frailty, dementia, learning disability mental health issues. I have worked during my career in Nursing and Residential Homes / Day Care Centre’s / Home Care Service and have a wealth of experience within the community.

All staff and volunteers are DBS checked prior to undertaking any tasks on behalf of the company.

We are fully insured for Public Liability and personal accident through Simply Business and all documentation is available to be seen by clients.
UP TO DATE
TRAINING
We participate in ongoing training courses e.g., First Aid, Moving & Positioning, Health & safety and a variety of other courses – all training records are available for clients to see.

SERVICE
There is a cost to the service, dependent on what your requirements are. This would be discussed with you at first contact.
We believe that everyone should have the right to live their lives as they prefer and illness and disability should not be a barrier.
We are committed to providing a high standard of care, dignity and respect to all of our customers and their families.

We aim to provide a service that is suited to the individual, with the participation of the individual and their family being at the Centre of what we do.
We will listen to what you want, work with you to achieve desired outcomes, no matter how small and provide as much support as you require throughout your visits and beyond.
We do not advertise our services on our vehicles or our person because we believe we are only there to provide a service to the individual at that time and as many people may feel a stigma associated with having someone to support, we feel this is very important.
We will provide our services regularly, as and when or just as required according to the needs of the individual. You can contact us at short notice and we will endeavor to help, our lines of communication are always available 24/7.
